mmmhmmmm, yes. I do love them.

novamatic:

I had to make this because I was planning to write an extended rant about the long-standing obsession with dehumanizing, de-feminizing, disrespecting, marginalizing and silencing Black women, but I honestly don’t know what I can add to the discussion at this point. Re-blog if you adore Black Women.

First of all,  Marsha Ambrosius? mmmmmmhhhh, YES she could get it. All day.

Second of all, I’m FEELIN’ this song way tooooo much.

The Guest House

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Don’t say anything, because I see that you understand me, and I am afraid of your understanding. I have such a fear of finding another like myself, and such a desire to find one. I am so utterly lonely, but I also have such a fear that my isolation be broken through, and I no longer be the head and ruler of my universe. I am in great terror of your understanding by which you penetrate into my world; and then I stand revealed and I have to share my kingdom with you.
